One of my favorite projects to work on! My professor randomly assigned everyone in my class a random city and forced us to create an event. I was assigned the great city of New Orleans.
Once I decided to advertise for a music festival, my first order of business was selecting the typeface and color scheme I wanted to use. I derived the color scheme from the traditional Mardi Gras celebration that goes on down in the Bayou every spring. With the typeface, I wanted to pay homage to the rich musical history that New Orleans boasts while also leaning more into the nature of the event itself.
As you can see, it was pretty simple to apply this mark to a handful of different mediums, between the outdoor, indoor, and personal levels of branding.
